Position Description

The Director, RAND Australia will work with U.S. RAND leaders and other RAND research staff to expand RAND’s research assignments for Australian clients at the commonwealth and state levels, deliver high quality research results on priority Australian public policy issues, and disseminate RAND research findings to Australian and other public policy communities.  The Director, RAND Australia will be responsible for directing the development of goals and objectives for the office, managing RAND Australia staff, and meeting corporate growth goals for the office.  The position will report to the Vice President, International in the U.S.

The duties of the job will be as follows:

The director will spend the majority of his/her time leading RAND Australia, but also will be expected to manage and develop proposals, and participate in research projects.

The position will report to the Vice President, International in the U.S.

Qualifications

The Director, RAND Australia should have competency, knowledge, and experience in the following areas:

Education Requirements

Doctoral or Master’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Political Science, Public Policy, Behavioral Sciences, Physical Sciences or other research related field.

Experience

Ideal candidates would have a minimum of 15 years experience, including 8 years developing, leading and managing policy research projects.
