This position will work as an integral part of the Classified
Operations Team providing technical leadership and direct technical compliance in
order to securely administer the company's computing systems and networks. This
role will provide support in maintaining the National Industrial Security Field
Operations (ISSO) Manual.
Responsibilities include, but
are not limited to:
- Verify and maintian the integrity of the RAND infrastructure
systems, services, networks, and clients.
- Analyze and provide network and system performance monitoring
and reporting; determine when additional infrastructure capacity is needed (Capacity
assistance to technical staff, including the diagnosing and troubleshooting of networking,
hardware and software problems. Act as an escalation resource for problem
resolution, solving difficult and complicated of technical problems in the field
a wide range of client, systems, and network service requests; ensure the highest
levels of customer satisfaction and network availability
- Implement multiple and simultaneous
new technology related initiatives and solutions
- Collaborate with other Information
Services groups and RAND departments in the evaluations, customization, adaptation,
implementation and security of infrastructure hardware and software systems, services
advise and design standard software and hardware builds, review system options,
risks, and impact on the enterprise business process and goals
- Implement technical controls, regulations
and processes required by NISPOM, DCID, ICDs, JAFAN, COMSEC, DOD.
- Prepare network, servers, and workstations
for announced and unannounced audits from regulators agencies; account for and report
on thousands of auditable technical configurations and controls
- Other duties as assigned.
high skill level with Linux and Windows Servers, SAN and NAS storage, and ESX.
- Minimum of 4
years’ experience with Linux and Windows, troubleshooting the most difficult
of problems in a commercial, research or university setting as well as architecting
a corporate-wide installation.
- Solid understanding of DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, DHCP, server
virtualization, and Active Directory.
- Knowledge of resources and practices in the security community
and current on changing requirements a plus.
- Ability to adjust quickly, adapt to changing
priorities and take initiative and own the task.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent
communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work well independently
and as part of a team and with strong organization skills.
BA/BS degree preferred. Exceptional related
work experience and skills may be considered in-lieu of a four-year degree.
CISSP Certification a plus.

Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. This position requires
the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. An active
Top Secret security clearance is strongly preferred.
