Position Description


RAND is seeking a Contract Administrator to join our Contracts & Grants Department. As a Contract Administrator, you will collaborate with RAND leaders and staff across research units to provide cradle-to-grave contracts administration, specifically by:

  • Participating in the preparation of proposals and bid responses for potential and existing customers
  • Developing negotiation strategies and drafting contract language in consultation with colleagues
  • Conducting negotiations on price, and terms and conditions of contracts; ensuring the contract reflects agreement, obtaining approvals to complete the contract
  • Identifying potential risks and resolving or mitigating them to protect RAND’s interests
  • Administering contracts and providing information, status and/or action reports
  • Ensuring that Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contract documents and other actions are consistent with RAND policy and other applicable regulations
  • Providing contract management oversight to ensure that business agreements are made in accordance with RAND objectives and regulations
  • Functioning as the business interface with RAND’s external and internal clients
