Position Description

An exceptional opportunity exists to provide high-level support to the President and CEO of the RAND Corporation and join an energetic, high-performing, collaborative team in the President’s Office.

Advanced job responsibilities include preparing thoughtfully designed and detailed business reports and presentations on a wide array of topics; maintaining detailed databases, spreadsheets, notes and other record-keeping systems; and continuously innovating new and better ways of doing things.

General administrative support includes enhancing the CEO’s effectiveness by managing various task lists, complex scheduling across multiple calendars, planning and staffing a wide array of internal meetings, scheduling complicated travel and handling material of a sensitive or confidential nature. The position also includes organizing high-profile executive events and meetings and working collaboratively with RAND’s in-house conference services and catering teams, or offsite vendors, as appropriate. 


The successful candidate is hyper-organized, thrives on efficiency, and is an enthusiastic problem solver. The position is highly interactive and involves constant communication with the executive and other team members, as well as numerous other top executives and assistants throughout the organization. The candidate must be proactive, multi-task and prioritize with minimal direction. Staying organized and producing high-quality work product in this position requires exceptional technical skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Mac skills are a favorable but not necessary. The position requires a minimum of 6 years of high-level executive administrative assistant experience with demonstrated exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and accuracy is essential. It is also critical that the individual be a team player, exhibit discretion, professional demeanor and good judgement in working with all levels of individuals within and outside of RAND.

Education Requirements

College degree desired with equivalent experience in-lieu of a college degree acceptable.


A minimum of 6 years of high-level executive administrative assistant experience is required.

Security Clearance

U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. Active secret clearance preferred.
